Heat treatment of metallic materials, analysis of thermodynamic transitions/realignments:

In this research we study the behaviour of the metals, which appear in large amounts in the industry and also the patterns of behaviour, produced by special materials with the application of the DMTA measurement system. Our experiments are aimed at the study of recrystallization of copper and aluminium alloys, and the determination of process defining, influential factors.

Forming of metallic materials: car body materials in the automotive, and their technological analysis

The dynamic development of automotive urges the reduction of expenses and raw material consumption of vehicle manufacturing, and also the reduction of pollutant emission of vehicles.  Finding new, innovative, eco-friendly solutions are necessary for the harmony between mankind and the natural environment. Besides the satisfaction of these requirements, the modern vehicle owners make their rightful demands for vehicle security.

The global legislations on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions led to the rapid development of structural materials for vehicles. The solution to the satisfaction of conflicting requirements could be the usage of high strength materials and tailor-welded blanks.  The usage of high strength materials conduces to the reduction of weight and- due to the less fuel consumption- CO2 emission. But the reactions of welded blanks to the conditions by different forming technologies are only partially known. The problems of different strength and forming characteristics in certain parts of tailor-welded blanks- for example the different strain and depletion, the different degree of anisotropy- lead us to this conclusion. The study of technical literature and the results so far bring us to the conclusion, that the rethinking of classical plasticity characteristics and results of technological examinations of welded sheets is necessary.
