From 26-29 April 2022, the 25th edition of the Laser World of Photonics world exhibition took place in Munich. Our department was represented at the event by our colleague Zsolt Könyves.
The pandemic period has also forced the laser technology industry to slow down, so unusually, the event has been held with a smaller number of exhibitors than in previous years. Despite this, more than 800 exhibitors turned up in 6 exhibition halls at the Messe Munich to showcase the latest technological advances in the industry.
Our Department, through the Diode Laser Centre, participated in a cooperation with the Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd. where our objective was to get to know a wide range of industry players and to establish links between them and the University.
The event covered all segments of the laser knowledge base in several dimensions. Thus, from research areas to mature industrial solutions, from medical applications to precision metrology tools were widely represented. There is also a strong industry focus on manufacturing automation and safety-related tools and equipment.
The long-established Laser World of Photonics 2023 will return for its 26th edition from 27-30 June 2023 to give visitors another look at where the world is heading in this diverse field.
